Consulting Intern

Department: Consulting
Location: San Diego, CA

You must be able to work onsite (15 hours minimum / week) at Centura's San Diego, California Headquarters.

Summary:

Centura's Consulting Internship provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wealth management. Interns will gain firsthand experience in how advisors help clients build and preserve wealth through sophisticated tax planning, wealth transfer strategies, asset management and insurance solutions.

Throughout the internship, you’ll collaborate with professionals across multiple teams, learning how client relationships are supported, and financial planning decisions are made and executed. You’ll be exposed to a variety of tools, technology platforms, and real client scenarios that will strengthen your wealth management knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial exhibits including, but not limited to, balance sheets, cash flow projections, retirement projections, estate summaries, insurance summaries, and basic client deliverables
  • Collect, maintain, organize and update client data within internal systems
  • Assist in development of presentations for clients and prospects
  • Support client communications, including information requests, follow-ups, and problem resolution
  • Learn and utilize key financial software platforms including Salesforce, Orion, RightCapital, and others
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong work ethic with exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, follow directions, and adapt quickly to new challenges
  • Organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of financial and investment concepts, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and insurance products
  • Inquisitive, resourceful, and eager to learn in a dynamic team setting

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in college.
  • Able to provide at least 15 hours during the academic year and be full-time during the summers.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Majoring in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
